icipe seeks to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the position of Senior Research Assistant/Biostatistician in our Biostatistics Unit. The position is tenable in Nairobi at the icipe Duduville campus. The position is for an initial fixed-term of 2 years, renewable, based on performance and availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited position. A competitive and generous compensation package will be offered to the right candidate.
Overall purpose of the job
To provide statistical support to research scientists, postgraduate students, partners and collaborators at all
stages of research and development.
§ Provide statistical consultation to re
§ Master’s degree in biostatistics/applied statistics/biometry.
§ At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar position, preferably in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment such as an international research organisation.
§ Proficiency in the use of R for data analysis is a must.
§ Experience in handling large databases.
This position reports to the Head, Capacity Building and Institutional Development Programme.
The selected candidate should be available to start as soon as possible.
